This collection includes newsletters, brochures, event flyers, programs, and ephemera for the following organizations: Black Lesbians United (BLU) and United Lesbians of African Heritage (ULOAH); as well as personal memorabilia. Highlights include material from annual SISTAHfest retreat hosted by ULOAH.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to determine who holds the copyright and pursue the copyright owner or heir for permission to publish where the June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives do not hold the copyright.
Biographical / Historical
Jeannette Bronson is a leader, mentor, archivist and organizer for United Lesbians of African Heritage (ULOAH) and Black Lesbians United (BLU).
ULOAH began in 1990 to promote Black Lesbian visibility through grassroots organizing and activism. They put on an annual Black Lesbian retreat called Sistahfest that took place in the hills of Malibu. In 2005 the governing body split and disbanded shortly after.
Jeannette Bronson along with 4 other Black Lesbians carried on the legacy of Sistahfest and created BLU.
